Types of Lenses!

Types of Lenses:

So, you've got a bunch of existing frames and you're thinking about giving them a fresh look with some new lenses from us? Not sure which replacement lenses to go for? Well, you've come to the right place! In this post, we're going to break down the types of lenses we offer to help you make the best choice for your eyewear makeover. Let's dive in!

**Types of Lenses:**

When it comes to lenses, we've got three main types to choose from, each serving a unique purpose and tailored to your prescription needs and style preferences. Whether you want to turn your lenses into a fashion statement, a pair of sunglasses, or just your everyday clear vision, we've got options for you. For now, let's focus on understanding the different "Types" of lenses.

**1. Single Vision Lenses – (Reading, Distance, and Intermediate fields of vision):**

These lenses are your go-to if you need assistance with a single field of vision. We offer three variations:

- *Reading*: Perfect for close-up vision, like reading a book.

- *Distance*: Ideal for when you need clear vision at a distance.

- *Intermediate*: Great for computer work or midrange vision. Please note that these lenses require a specific prescription and can't be made using distance or reading prescriptions.

**2. Bifocal Lenses (Distance and Reading fields of vision):**

These lenses are like a two-in-one package, combining both distance and reading fields of vision in a single lens. You'll find the reading portion set in a visible "D" shaped segment at the bottom of each lens, often referred to as the "Visible line."

**3. Multifocal Lenses (Distance, Intermediate, and Reading fields of vision):**

Our multifocal lenses cover all your vision needs in one lens without any "visible lines" or segments. They are sometimes called "Transitional" lenses, but don't get confused—transitions here are a separate lens feature. We offer three types of Multifocal lenses to cater to different preferences:

- *"Affordable" Multifocals*: This one has the smallest Reading and Intermediate fields of vision, making it ideal for sunglass lenses where Distance vision is crucial

- *"Clarity" Multifocals*: These have wider Reading and Intermediate fields of vision and are the most commonly chosen type. Supplied by Essilor Australia

- *"Clarity Plus" Multifocals*: These offer the widest Reading and Intermediate fields of vision with minimal peripheral distortion. Supplied by Essilor Australia

We hope this breakdown helps clarify any doubts about the various lenses, their names, and their purposes. If you have more questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help!
