1: Where do I start?

To begin, you can either choose to use your own frame or purchase one of ours! If you are using your own frame, choose the "Type of Lenses" you require which can be found under the "Using Own Frame" section or choose a "Standard" or "Fashion" frame from the "Use One of Our Frames" section! Once you choose the correct option and "Click" "Next" you will then be taken onto the next step! - "Adding Optional Extras" to the lenses you have chosen or "Choosing The Type of Lenses" you need to put in the frame you have chosen! - Please feel free to "Add" options to your cart etc! An order will not be placed until you confirm the order! - Once you place an order, "Progress Emails" will be sent to the email address you used to sign-up to our site with! So please make sure you use an address you check often! We will not send you regular newsletters unless you have requested this option!

2: How do I see what options are available and how much my order will cost?

The price of lenses and frames are on our Home Page! If you want to see how much "Optional Extras" will cost ontop of the lens costs, choose your ideal "Lens Type" and "Click" "Next" a popup will appear detailing all the "Extras" you can "Add" to your lenses! If you choose a frame and "Click" "Next" you will see a popup detailing the "Types of Lenses" you can "Add" to the frame! "Click" "Next" again and the "Optional Extras" popup will appear! Feel free to experiment with all options as an order will not be placed until you confirm the order!

3: How do I update my cart?

If you have "Added" a few things to the "Cart" that you want to delete! "Hover" over the "Cart Icon" at the top of the page and "Click" on the "Rubbish Bin" to "Delete" the item or "Click" on the "Cart Icon" to be taken to the "Cart Summary" page!

4: How do I get a copy of my prescription?

By Law, you are entitled to a copy of your prescription here in Australia, after an Optometrist has given you a thorough eye examination! Once the test is completed, ask him for a copy! It is recommended that you have a test done every two years! This is covered by Medicare! If you have prescription glasses that contain a farely new prescription, we can take a reading from your glasses and obtain your prescription details ourselves! Alternatively you are welcome to print out the "PDF" file on our home page and take that into your Optometrist to fill in!

5: What brand lenses does 4 Eyes Optical use?

We Proudly use Lenses and Frames bought from supplies here in Australia! We proudly do not use Chinese Lenses or Frames! The brands we use are - Essilor, Transition, ADL (Aussie Durable Lens), Optimus, Polycore and Ashalite!

6: Can I claim from my Health Fund Provider?

Being an Australian Owned, Based and Operated business we have a Provider Number for most small and major Health Funds! Please contact us prior to ordering and we will confirm whether we can give you a Health Fund invoice with all the appropriate codes and information on it!

7: Can 4 Eyes Optical provide me the type of lenses my Optometrist/Optical Store has recommended for me?

Yes, we can! Although some lenses have special names, we can supply you with lenses that are equivalent to the lenses that have been recommended to you! We only use locally bought products, so you will receive quality goods through us! If you would like to discuss your options first, please feel free to call us or drop us a line!

8: What Guarantee do I get with my order?

We offer a 100% Guarantee! We will replace your lenses or frame and lens package should there be an issue with the manufacturing aspect of the product for 12 months! We also guarantee that we will beat any other quote for the same products by 10%!

9: Why is 4 Eyes Optical a little pricier compared to other online stores?

We are a little pricier as we not only use locally bought frames and lenses, we also do all the fitting ourselves! Unless a frame is unusual then we use another business here in Australia to do the fitting for us! 99% of the time we are in charge of your order from start to finish! We don't send them away to be fitted off shore, as we want to make sure the best outcome for your requirements is obtained! We use optical quality cr39 lenses as our standard option! We use optical quality metal, accetate or a mixture of both for our frames! You get what you pay for with us!

10: How long will it take to receive my order?

This depends on your requirements! If you are using your own frame our turnaround time is 2 - 10 days from the time we receive your frame! (This can be a little longer if you have an unusual prescription, frame or requirements!) This time frame can also be extended if we have accessed your frame and it requires specialised fitting at our lens manufacturer in Sydney! (You will be notified of this requirement as soon as possible!) If you are using one of our frames, our turnaround time is 2 - 10 days from the time you place your order! (This can be a little longer if you have an unusual prescription, frame or requirements!) Everything is located here in Australia, so our turnaround time is quite quick! Your goods are shipped back to you via Australia Post express post!

11: What if I am unsure of what lenses to order?

We will make your lenses according to your order! If you are unsure of what lenses you should order, please contact us via phone or email and we will happily discuss all your options with you!

12: What frames are suitable for optical lenses?

Any frames that you have previously purchased from your Optometrist/Optical Store! A quality frame will have strength and have some weight to it! Frames purchased cheaply at the Pharmacy or Discount stores are not recommended as the metal ones do not have screws in them, which are necessary for tightening and loosening the frame to insert lenses into! The plastic ones are usually quite flimsy and don't stand being heated up too well! We need to be able to heat plastic frames up to insert lenses into them! We recommend you talk to a frame supplier, they will know what frames are ideal for optical lenses! We will not take responsibility for any breakages to frames that are not or can not be proven to be of optical quality or are not in decent condition upon receiving them!

13: What do I do if I use my own frame?

You will need to send the frame to us for fitting! Which we do Free of charge! You will ind our address in the order confirmation email you receive from us! All correspondence will be sent to the address you signed up to our site with! So please make sure you use an email address that you check often! We recommend you send your frames in a Hard Case as the frame needs to be in good condition when we receive it! If the frame is broken or needs to be adjusted due to damage while in transit, you will be notified and charged a minimum $30.00 for the frames repair! Please send your frame to us via express post as it will get to us in 2 days! Standard post can take over a week which will delay your turn-around time! You should attach a copy of your order confirmation, prescription details and add your email address and phone number details so that we can contact you if there are any concerns with your order or frame!

14: Can I use my "Oakley" frames?

Yes, we can fit both non-prescription and prescription lenses to your Oakley frame! There is a $30.00 fitting fee for these frames as they have to be specially fitted at our lens manufacturer in Sydney! This cost covers both the additional postage and fitting fees required for this service! - Please choose "Oakley Frame" option in the "Type of Frame" section during ordering! If you are ordering Multi-Focal Lenses, you will need to choose from either "Free-Form" or "Double-Sided Free-Form" Lenses as Oakley's have a certain wrap in the frame that "Standard" Multi-Focal Lenses won't work with!

15: What do I do if there is no "Add" reading on my prescription?

For those that only require: Single Vision (Distance) lenses, there will not be an "Add" reading on your prescription! "Add" is a reading for those that require: Single Vision: Reading, Bi-Focal, Multi-Focal and Occupational/Access Lenses! This reading helps the wearer see things clearer close-up!

16: I am not sure how to fill out the prescription section of the site, can I send a copy to you?

Yes, you can! Please ensure you click this option when you get to the prescription section of the ordering process!

17: Can I upload or send you a copy of my prescription via email?

Yes, you can! Please ensure you click either of these options when you get to the prescription section of the ordering process!

18: What payment options are accepted through us?

We offer: PayPal, Direct Deposit and zipPay! We also accept: All Major Credit Cards!

19: Can I get lenses for my children through 4 Eyes Optical?

Yes, you can! If you can provide us with a frame that is adjusted correctly to fit your child, we can supply the lenses you need! You can either order the desired lenses through the "Use Own Frame" section or give us a call or drop us an email, we would be happy to discuss all your options with you!

20: Is it ok to order on behalf of someone else?

It is not recommended to order on behalf of somebody else, as this can cause delay in the process of your order due to different names and details being received! Please make sure the name on the prescription and parcel matches the name you signup to our website with! 

21: Is it ok to use my personal email address and phone number when signinup to 4 Eyes Opticals' website?

Yes! It is recommended you use an email address that you check regularly as we send your progress orders as we go! We recommend you add your phone number also! If we need to contact you for more information regarding your order, we can do so quickly and with a more straight forward conversation! You will not be bombarded with emails from us unless you have added your name to our newsletter list!
